The hardware is the easy part.
UniFi is popular because it is capable and affordable. It gets a bad reputation on sites where it was unboxed, adopted and left on defaults - one flat network, no VLANs, mismatched firmware, devices named after whoever installed them.
Deployment here means a naming scheme, firmware baselined, channel and power planned rather than left on auto everywhere, guest traffic separated from the till and the cameras, and a handover document that means you are not dependent on me.
- UniFi access point, switch and gateway deployment
- PoE capacity and uplink planning
- VLAN and guest network separation
- Controller setup, self-hosted or cloud
- Firmware baselining and consistent naming
- Migration from an old or abandoned controller
