Most network problems on small commercial sites are not exotic. They are an access point in the wrong place, an uplink that was never upgraded when the site grew, a cabinet nobody has labelled since 2014, or cameras sharing a flat network with the till. The skill is in finding which, quickly, and being honest about what does not need replacing.

That is the whole model here. An itemised, fixed-price quote after the survey so the number does not move. Hardware supplied at cost, so there is no incentive to over-specify and you see exactly what the kit costs. No VAT to add. And a documented handover, because infrastructure you cannot understand is a liability, not an asset.

How do you price a job, and how do I get a quote?

Every job gets a fully itemised, fixed-price written quote after a short survey - you see exactly what the work costs and what the hardware costs, separately. Hardware is supplied at cost, so there is no markup hidden in the kit, and there is no VAT to add because Coastal Connectivity is not VAT registered. The figure you accept is the figure you pay. Send a few photos of the site or the problem and you get a realistic idea quickly.

Why don't you list prices on the site?

Because an honest price depends on the building. Cable routes, how much existing kit can be kept, granite or listed walls and camera count all change the number, and a headline price online is usually either padded to be safe or a bait figure that climbs later. You get a proper itemised quote after a quick look at the site instead - and hardware always at cost, with no VAT on top.

Do you cover my area?

Everywhere in Cornwall. Redruth, Camborne, Truro, Falmouth, Hayle, St Ives, Penzance, Helston, Newquay and St Austell are routine. Further east and over the Tamar is possible with a travel charge agreed beforehand.

Do I have to buy new hardware?

Not automatically. Plenty of sites have switching and cabling with years of life left and one badly placed access point causing every complaint. The survey tells you what is actually failing. Replacing kit that still works is how installers pad an invoice.

Can you work with our existing IT provider?

Yes, and it is common. A lot of the work is subcontract field engineering for IT companies who need hands in Cornwall. You get labelled infrastructure, link test results and controller handover in a form your provider can pick up cleanly.

Our site has no decent broadband at all. Can anything be done?

Usually. Starlink, a wireless point-to-point bridge from a building that does have a line, or 4G/5G failover will cover most rural sites. The survey establishes line of sight and what upstream option is realistic before you spend anything.

How quickly can you get to site?

Same-day reply on weekdays and a survey usually within five working days. Genuine outages affecting trading get prioritised - call rather than email if you are down.

Are you insured?

Yes - public liability insured, with the certificate available on request before any work starts.

Do you do home networks as well as commercial?

Yes. Larger houses, home offices, annexes, barn conversions and properties where the router is in the wrong corner of a thick-walled building are all regular work.

Have a site that needs sorting?

Send the location, the problem and a couple of photos of the existing router, cabinet or problem area. You get a straight answer and, where it can be scoped, a fixed price.
